The Reitz Union art gallery is pleased to present an exhibit of Steph Paula's oil paintings, NOCTURNAS.
The Reitz Union art gallery is pleased to present an exhibit of Steph Paula's oil paintings, NOCTURNAS. This series explores the concept of chaos as a path to creation. Moth trails reveal themselves as symbolic of the process of artmaking, evidence of an impulsive search towards a personal truth and our attraction to it. These trails lay a backdrop to several life-sized paintings of nude females, the NOCTURNAS. Also included in the exhibit are photographs and oil paintings created the past year from her previous series, "Sorry I Was Sleeping." The exhibit will be on display from August 24- September 10, 2009. A reception will be held on September 10, 2009 from 7-9 p.m.; refreshments served. Gallery hours are Monday- Thursday: 9 a.m.- 9 p.m., and Friday-Sunday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.
