The Reitz Union Outfitter is the outdoor gear provider on campus. Camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling and other assorted outdoor gear is available for rent or purchase.
Gator Nights is held every Friday night for UF students from 6.30PM-2.00AM in the Reitz Union. TRiP often hosts programs to the Gainesville Rock Gym, Paynes Prairie and Lake Santa Fe through Gator Nights.
The Office of Student Activities is the heart of student organizations and programs at the University of Florida. OSA involves students in the planning and execution of a variety of events and activities, both on and off campus.
Lake Wauburg is a great local resource for outdoor recreation. Students and affiliates of the University of Florida may enjoy the lake, beach, climbing wall, boating, Frisbee golf and many other activities all completely free.
The GRG is a great indoor climbing facility for experienced climbers, first-timers and groups. The gym boasts over 8500 sq. feet of vertical wall up to 36 feet high and a 3500 sq. foot, two-story bouldering grotto.
The Florida State Parks web site provides detailed information about parks and recreation throughout the state of Florida. Its "park locator" enables you to search for a park alphabetically, by region, or activity.
The Leave No Trace (LNT) program promotes and inspires responsible outdoor recreation through education, research, and partnerships. The program is managed by LNT Inc., a non-profit organization located in Boulder, Colorado.
