What is RUB?
Reitz Union Board (RUB) Entertainment is a student-run programming board that strives to provide engaging, educational, and quality programming for the University of Florida. The purpose of RUB Entertainment is to serve the diverse UF community as the primary programming arm of the J. Wayne Reitz Union.
RUB Entertainment provides such events in the Reitz Union with the combined efforts of six different committees and an Executive Board.

The Arts Committee is dedicated to promoting art on campus by hosting programs that include workshops and DIY events. In our workshops, we guide students in creating art (such as in last year's Zombie Makeup Workshop and Build a Flower Bouquet Workshop), while our DIY events provide students with the needed supplies and relaxing space to create their own art (such as last year’s DIY Journal Making and the recent DIY Banner Making).
The Bands Committee is dedicated to bringing varied musical experiences to the diverse student body. We bring local, regional and national acts to tailor to everyone's unique music taste. In the past, we have brought national acts such as: T-Pain, Best Coast, and Passion Pit.
The Films Committee provides students with the unique opportunity to experience going to the movies without having to pay exorbitant ticket prices or search far and wide for that one movie they have been dying to see. We screen a variety of recent releases, older classics, foreign films, and independent movies every month. We also host advance screenings throughout the semester, so that students can see movies for free before they are even released in theaters.
GatorNights is the leading late night program in the Southeast, taking place every Friday night during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. We screen the latest blockbuster movies and host the hottest bands, DJs, comedians, improv shows, arts and crafts, video game tournaments and more. There is much fun to have at GatorNights, so mark your calendars and remember GatorNights is 'Always Friday, Always Free’.
Speakers and Comedians Committee
The Speakers and Comedians committee is dedicated to bringing a variety of engaging speakers, performers, and comedic acts to the Reitz Union to provide the student body with both entertainment and insight. In the past we have brought speakers like Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, and Max Brooks, and comedians like John Mulaney, College Humor, and Cat Ladies. We also host Open Mic Nights throughout the semester for students to come and perform their stand up comedy in front of a live audience.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee provides students with quality entertainment and diverse, unique experiences by putting on a wide variety of events. In the past we we have events range from our huge annual Harry Potter themed events to our smaller, more laid-back events like Bling Out Your Bedroom where you can decorate bulletin boards, mason jars, picture frames, and other items for your residence hall.
